Today Japan offered to accept the unconditional surrender ultimatum offered by the allies with the reservation that the Emperor be allowed to keep his sovereignty. It looks like the beginning of the end. When the news hit here everyone went nuts. Much shooting of rockets, flares, etc. and lots of noise. Of course this is nothing final, but it looks good
