30 November 1944

At 0430 this AM we left Gilligili and headed up the NE coast of New Guinea. The shoreline was in sight most of the trip and about 1700 we pulled into Ora Bay and the port of Buna. This is a very busy port. Numerous freighters in the harbor loading and unloading every type of material imaginable. Appears to be quite an important supply depot. A great number of troops including WACs disembarked. Also a lot of mail and freight is being unloaded. Seems as though we will never get to our destination---wherever it may be. Our CO is just as much in the dark as we are.
