7 November 1944

Guess I am not a very good prognosticator. This morning they gave everyone on the ship orders to be ready to move off. We debarked about noon and climbed into trucks and were driven 20 miles inland to the 22nd Air Replacement depot where we were assigned tents and proceeded to get the dust off us with the first fresh water shower we have had since leaving the States. Facilities here are rugged, food very plain and not much of it.
